Pune Airport

Telephone No. 668 5201. Fax: 6685599 Pune airport is situated in the Lohagaon area, about 10 km or 6 miles from the city. The small but well-maintained airport operates about 7-8 flights every day. Pune is serviced by Jet Airways, Indian Airlines and Gujarat Airways for the Pune-Mumbai, Pune-Bangalore, Pune-Delhi, Pune-Chennai, Pune-Ahmedabad, Pune-Hyderabad and Pune-Goa sectors.

The flying time between Mumbai and Pune is less than 30 minutes. A number of airways operate services on this sector. Check flight timings for schedules.

Special taxis
You can book a taxi from the prepaid taxi counter which charges Rs. 200 for Non air-conditioned taxis and Rs. 300 for air-conditioned ones for a distance of 20 km and 1 hour.

Regular taxis and rickshaws
Outside the Airport you can get regular taxis, however they are not metered and charge approximately Rs. 150 for the city drop. Auto-Rickshaws (3-Wheelers) are also available charging Rs. 100/- for the city drop.

Buses
The most economical way to reach the city is by the bus service run by ex-armymen. The ticket costs between Rs. 20 and Rs. 25 and is generally available during flight timings. The tickets for this service are available at their counter which is adjacent to the prominent BPL Mobile stall.

Out-of-Pune taxi service
You can also hire a taxi to Shirdi or Mahableshwar directly from the Airport.
